MAKE BASIC CAKE (WSQ COURSE)
Lay the foundation of cake making through basic cake making. Learn how to make sponge cake, butter cake, baked cheese cake, swiss roll and pandan chiffon. Have fun with a 4-day hands-on cake making session. Many students have enjoyed the course. We think you will too. Participants who are competent will be awarded a Statement of Attainment (SOA) issued by Skillsfuture Singapore (SSG) for the WSQ competency unit (Make Basic Cake)
List and describe the functionality of ingredients used in making the variety of cake products Use the various cake making methods to produce batter cake, chiffon cake, baked cheese cake and sponge cake Name the various mixing and processing work methods for making the variety of cake type products Discuss and calculate the cake recipes using Baker's percentage Evaluate baked cake products by comparing and assessing the product outcome Complete the baking to the required standard taking into consideration the crust, crumb color and visual eye appeal
This course is developed based on WSQ National Competency Standard for the Food and Beverage Operations Industry. On completion of this competency unit, the Learner will have the knowledge, skills and attributes (values) acquired and be able to apply them at various workplaces. 4 days (total 35 hours) duration.
Eligibility: Minimum 16 years old (Course Fee Support is only applicable to trainees aged 21 years and above) Primary PSLE Must be able to speak, read and write in English and demonstrate competency at Level 4 (Lower Secondary) for Employability Skills (ES) WSQ Workplace Literacy and Numeracy
Singaporean & PR aged 21 and above = 70% funding.
Singaporeans only (not PR) aged 40 and above = 90% funding.
Singaporeans aged 35-39 with WSS letter = 70% funding.
Company-Sponsored (till end of 2020)
Singaporeans & PRs aged 21 years and above are allowed 90% funding.
Absentee Payroll applies for company sponsored up to $10/training hour. Please use Absentee Payroll calculator provided by SSG to calculate the absentee payroll for your employee.
