LEAN MANAGEMENT IN SERVICE INDUSTRY (WSQ COURSE)

Lean management is an organisation's management approach that supports the concept of continuous improvement. It is a long-term approach to work and sets out to achieve small, incremental changes in processes in order to improve efficiency and quality, all in a systematic manner. Lean management is largely applied to the manufacturing industry. But in this course, we specifically apply the concept of lean management for the service industry. The intended audience for this course are Entrepreneurs, Business Owners, Heads, Senior Level Managers, team leaders and supervisors from any service industry responsible for Strategic Program Management, Continuous Improvement and Innovation, Business Excellence, process engineering, manufacturing, service delivery processes and organizational effectiveness.

Programme Content

Workshop Description Lean is about doing 'more' with 'less'. It is a systematic and data driven method to improve efficiency in their work processes. LEAN will focus your service organization on the Value Added activities and eliminate the non-Value-adding activities. Many people associate Lean Management with manufacturing industry. Few people realize that Lean Management's principles, concepts, tools and techniques can be applied to the Service Industry (Banks, insurance, healthcare, hospitals, retails, logistics, transportation, etc.) to achieve great savings from productivity by eliminating needless 'waste' in the service industry.

Course Deliveries

At the end of this workshop, the participants will be able to: Understand what is the Personal Data Protection Act Understand the 9 Key Obligations Understand the roles of Data Protection Officer Understand what is an organisation Data Inventory Map Identify possible areas of non-conformance Develop a process for handling complaints relating to data protection Develop a PDPA communication plan for your organisation.

Prerequistes

Eligibility: Minimum 16 years old (Course Fee Support is only applicable to trainees aged 21 years and above) Primary PSLE Must be able to speak, read and write in English and demonstrate competency at Level 3 for Employability Skills (ES) WSQ Workplace Literacy and Numeracy

Self-Sponsored

  1. Singaporean & PR aged 21 and above = 70% funding.

  2. Singaporeans only (not PR) aged 40 and above = 90% funding.

  3. Singaporeans aged 35-39 with WSS letter = 70% funding.

Company-Sponsored (till end of 2020)

  1. Singaporeans & PRs aged 21 years and above are allowed 90% funding.

  2. Absentee Payroll applies for company sponsored up to $10/training hour. Please use Absentee Payroll calculator provided by SSG to calculate the absentee payroll for your employee.
