Problems are part and parcel of any organisation. Being able to solve problems and making decisions is every worker's job. But is there a process of identifying problems? Or better still, identifying them before they happen? What about a process of making a decision? Learn all these in a highly interactive 2-day workshop. This workshop will be conducted with a good blend of instruction, discussions, case studies and simulation games. Participants are encouraged to bring their workplace problem into the workshop to solve. The intended audience: Managers, supervisors and professionals to equip them with a suite of problem solving tools, techniques and templates for them to solve product-related, process-related and people-related problems effectively and efficiently.

Programme Content

Course Purpose To equip the learners with a comprehensive suite of tools, techniques and templates to solve problems and to make quality decisions, which include anticipating and identifying potential problems, facilitating team's effort to resolve the problem, making appropriate decisions and formulating implementation plan

Course Deliveries

At the end of the workshop, you will be able to: Identify symptom(s) that could lead to potential problem(s) at the workplace Apply logical deduction to anticipate and detect problem(s) at the workplace based on symptom(s) and relevant information gathered Analyse relevant information surrounding the perceived problem(s) and identify the exact problem using various techniques. Analyse the root cause(s) of the problem(s) at the workplace using appropriate problem-solving tools and techniques Facilitate generation of solutions to solve problem(s) by encouraging creativity among team members Select a solution among the shortlisted ones collectively with team members Develop an implementation plan that addresses the root cause(s) of the problem(s) and consider the impact to organization and customers Evaluate the effectiveness of the implemented solution and implementation plan by analysing feedback gathered from relevant sources


2 Days 20 Hours


Eligibility: Minimum 16 years old (Course Fee Support is only applicable to trainees aged 21 years and above) Primary PSLE Must be able to speak, read and write in English and demonstrate competency at Level 4 for Employability Skills (ES) WSQ Workplace Literacy and Numeracy




  1. Singaporean & PR aged 21 and above = 70% funding.

  2. Singaporeans only (not PR) aged 40 and above = 90% funding.

  3. Singaporeans aged 35-39 with WSS letter = 70% funding.

Company-Sponsored (till end of 2020)

  1. Singaporeans & PRs aged 21 years and above are allowed 90% funding.

  2. Absentee Payroll applies for company sponsored up to $10/training hour. Please use Absentee Payroll calculator provided by SSG to calculate the absentee payroll for your employee.
