DIPLOMA IN HOSPITALITY
MANAGEMENT & PATISSERIE & BAKING
This Diploma course is a non-WSQ course. The Diploma in Hospitality Management (Patisserie & Baking) aims to equip students with skills and knowledge for managing a food and beverage (F&B) business. Students will learn to manage both frontend operations and back-end processes through a combination of classroom learning and industrial attachment. Programme Overview The Diploma in Hospitality Management (Patisserie & Baking) aims to equip students with skills and knowledge for managing a food and beverage (F&B) business within the hospitality industry. Students will develop an in-depth understanding of both the front-end operations and back-end processes of a food and beverage business in general; and patisserie & baking in particular through a combination of classroom learning and industrial attachment.
Students who have successfully completed the course shall be able to: Describe the sectors of the hospitality industry including F&B, lodging, recreation, and travel and tourism. Manage key aspects of service marketing including product, price, promotion, place, people, process, and physical evidence. Describe the fundamentals of food and beverage operations and how they contribute to service excellence. Apply the principles and methods of making pastries, breads and cakes. Apply knowledge and skills learnt in the course to perform a job competently during a 6-month industrial attachment.
The course duration is 12 months (6 months of institutional training and 6 months of industrial attachment).
Maximum allowed period for the student to complete the course is 15 months.
Age: At least 17 years old Academic: At least 3 subject passes with Grade C6 and above at GCE O-Level OR completed 11 years of formal education OR equivalent English Proficiency: IELTS 4.5 or equivalent
Singaporean & PR aged 21 and above = 70% funding.
Singaporeans only (not PR) aged 40 and above = 90% funding.
Singaporeans aged 35-39 with WSS letter = 70% funding.
Company-Sponsored (till end of 2020)
Singaporeans & PRs aged 21 years and above are allowed 90% funding.
Absentee Payroll applies for company sponsored up to $10/training hour. Please use Absentee Payroll calculator provided by SSG to calculate the absentee payroll for your employee.
